Direct Communications International, Inc. (DCI) has an
experience and direct involvement in the land mobile radio, avionics, and wireless
industries. Established in 1990, DCI introduced its first software product; CommShopTM.
This single title quickly became an industry standard for land mobile radio
system design, maintenance and just a handy tool in the shop.
In
1993, DCI LMR Products added plug-in computer boards to encode service
monitors with selective signaling formats. The CommShop Audio and Paging boards
can be used for bench testing or direct modulation for in-house paging
systems.
Added to the company in 1992, DCI Professional
Consulting continues to provide services for hire within the land mobile and
wireless industries. Among the services offered are DCI's live seminars
covering the FCC and OSHA regulations and guidelines regarding RF Safety.
In 1995 the
DCI Marketing division was established as a
manufacturer's rep company in the Rocky Mountain Territory. The rep division acquired the talent to get the job
done and the product lines to feed the talent. Lines represented included
Motorola Test Equipment, Antenex, Ritron, SDI, Cadex, Narda, Dispatch Products,
Amrel and AvReps Int'l. The direct rep division was closed in 2001 when DCI relocated
to Illinois.
DCI Marketing
continues to work with a network of
representatives to provide national representation within the wireless and land
mobile industry. Manufacturers looking for a field force can benefit from DCI's
extensive experience and access to some of the best reps in the business.
In 2005 DCI released its RF Safety course on DVD. "RF
Safety LIVE!" is a two-hour packed training program to familiarize
technical personnel to work safely around RF sources. Upon successful completion
and testing, students receive a certificate of training.

Company president, Steve Lemons has been conducting
technical, sales, and marketing, courses since the late 70's. His experiences in
the field bring the classroom materials to life with real world examples. As a
professional presenter, Lemons cues into the audience to gauge the reception and
clarity. Years at the "chalkboard" provide a confidence in material
and skill to meet the training objectives.
Energy, humor, and enthusiasm, are key components of
Lemons' style. Getting through the material is never the goal but rather getting
the material through to the student. Experience is not expensive, it is
priceless.
